Arzachena, the rock of the Fungo
The rock of the Fungo (Mushroom), called Monti Incappidatu in local dialect, is a granite formation shaped on a hill, situated a few steps from the historical centre. In Roman times the town was known as Turubulus Major (large mushroom).
The rock, thanks to its wide hat, was used as a dwelling or refuge: this is proved by several finds dating back to the recent Neolithic period up to the Nuragic period.
It is definitely worth a visit, maybe at sunset, after a relaxing day in our swimming pool!
